The Starting Over Ceremony marks the transition between the past and future of your relationship.
The purpose of the ceremony is to heal hearts, to forgive the past, to Celebrate the past, but most importantly to release the future.
Using words, music and ritual the ceremony acknowledges the love that drew you together, the pain and hurt you may have caused one another.
It looks to the future, the ‘new you’ with your new found strength as an individual, embracing change.
It may feel appropriate to have friends and family present, this is especially important if they too have been part of the journeythrough your break-up. You will be able to give thanks for their support and ask it for the future.
The ceremony can also focus on your children, to say how sad you are that they too have had unhappy times, to make your pledges to them, to let them know you love them unconditionally and will together work to support them through the next stage in their lives.
We, at Life on Life, work with you, over time, to create a ceremony that is totally unique to you and your circumstances. We have found our “Starting Over” Ceremonies to be life affirming, healing and above all an opportunity to establish a new positive relationship with your former partner. They can also be a way of starting over from bereavement.
